Filming Day 6 Plans

To organise ourselves efficiently Ceri and I have created a plan for what we would like to film on our sixth filming session.  Filming Day 6 Plans by Anonymous OnyJTYuF1 on Scribd

Updated Schedule

Ceri and I have now received feedback on draft video and have understood and taken on board (as shown in blog post Draft Music Video Feedback) and are now planning for final filming dates to make these amendments. Our plan is to split the filming into three more nights, one with just our artist, one with just our dancers and a final night with both. We believe this will allow us to make the most of our time and allow to focus on just filming one aspect of the video, which will hopefully help us complete filming to the best of our ability. This will also ensure that all solo shots of the singer and dancers and then the shots where they both together will be filmed in exactly the same conditions helping our music video to look more realistic. We have also sourced more equipment to aide us with our filming, as as we have learn't from our feedback some of our shots are very static and simple. To deepen our shots and allow for seamless movement in the video creating interest in the ...

Lighting And Location Preparation

Image
On the 9th October 2017, we began setting up our location of the stage with the lighting we would like. We have chosen to film on the stage as this will allow us access to different lighting techniques, fits to the type of video we are hoping to create which is performance and is also practical as the stage allows for plenty of room for the dancers to perform. We have chosen to use the school stage as we have easy access to this and this is also a safe and secure environment for us to film our video in. The lighting we have chosen for our video is a purple lighting, with a stain-glass window projected onto the back wall and a spotlight on our artist. Ceri and I chose purple lighting as we feel this will create a moody and atmospheric effect however the purple is not too dull and will still look interesting on screen. This less bright colour of purple also represents the message of the song well, as the song is more of a slow/heartbreak song rather than a cheerful upbeat song. The pro...

Lighting Stage Plan

Lighting Plans from Steph2000 This plan details the lights we will be using while filming. We will be having 2 lights on each side of the stage, within the wings. These lights will be clear white lights that will project no colour however will provide sharp and professional lighting for our video. We will also be having two spotlights on the middle bar to project clear and sharp lighting onto our singer. This will also help our artist to stand out and be easier to see and place her within the video. Our final lights are the eight lights which are coloured purple and this will bask the stage in a purple glow, which creates the feel and style we wanted. The colour purple adds interest and individuality to the video while following the indie genre.

Schedule

To help us remain organised and prepared throughout this process Ceri and I have created a schedule as shown below. We will be updating this schedule as we work through creating our music video, showing our aims for each date. Schedule  September 2017  15 th September 2017: Presented pitch to class to gain both verbal and written feedback from the class. 17 th September 2017: Contact the Church to understand how much we may or may not be able to film there. 19 th September 2017: Had a change of plan and decided to now film using access to the stage and lighting. Contact a lighting expert to begin to understand what we may be able to use/do with the lighting. 20 th September 2017: Create a picture inspiration of lighting and detail what effects we would like to us if possible, this inspiration has also been posted on our blogs. Learnt that the effects we would like to create with the lighting are all possible and begin to plan for this. 21 st Sep...

Location

Image
We have chosen to use the school stage as location due to the options this will give us. We will be able to choose and utilize a range of lighting which which will allow us to create a visually interesting video. The stage is also plenty big and spacious enough for our dancers to be able to perform which will help us significantly while filming. The school stage is also very accessible to both Ceri and I and also to our dancers and performers that are appearing in our video. As we all attend this school we are able to film after school with ease and we also know we are in a safe and secure environment for filming.

Change Of Plan

As presented in our pitch Ceri and I were originally considering/basing our idea on using a Church as our primary location for filming. Due to setbacks with this idea, Ceri and I have decided to create still a performance video, however changing the setting to on stage with professional lighting. Many aspects of our idea remain the same; we will still be using "Bows" and "Freya Tamsin" as our dancers and artist, still be using the indie song "Take Me To Church" and will be using a church setting theme within the stage setting-we aim to achieve this by lighting techniques. Our audience feedback was very helpful to us within making this decision, the problems raised especially about lighting in the Church, are all valid points which enabled Ceri and I to re-consider our plan. We are also not totally discounting the idea of the Church, who we are currently working with to understand what we can and can not film. The aim now regarding the Church is to look a...

Audience Feedback

After completing our pitch Ceri and I handed out feedback sheets to an mix sample of males and females aged 17-18. This demographic fits within our target audience of males to females aged 16-24 meaning the information we have gained for this is will valuable. While we appreciate that some people who we have given the survey to may not be interested in the indie music genre, their opinions will still be helpful as they may concern areas such as the practical side of filming. We asked them for one positive, one negative and if they had any ideas an recommendation for music video idea; the responses we have been given are listed below and are very helpful to us within the planning stages of our music video.   Positives: - Church location (this was named as a positive many times across our survey due to this being interesting and effective for our video idea) -Two different locations -Inspiration (this was mentioned a positive twice, as we completed substantial research to find i...
