Audience Feedback

After completing our pitch Ceri and I handed out feedback sheets to an mix sample of males and females aged 17-18. This demographic fits within our target audience of males to females aged 16-24 meaning the information we have gained for this is will valuable. While we appreciate that some people who we have given the survey to may not be interested in the indie music genre, their opinions will still be helpful as they may concern areas such as the practical side of filming. We asked them for one positive, one negative and if they had any ideas an recommendation for music video idea; the responses we have been given are listed below and are very helpful to us within the planning stages of our music video.

Positives:
- Church location (this was named as a positive many times across our survey due to this being interesting and effective for our video idea)
-Two different locations
-Inspiration (this was mentioned a positive twice, as we completed substantial research to find inspiration and explained this)
-Stained glass windows
-Good outfit ideas
-Cover idea
-Female artist
-Clear idea on what to do
-Adapted for girl singer
-Dancer costumes staying the same
-Using dancers within the video to create an performance video

Negatives:
-Might not have much dancing space
-Lighting in the church and outside (this was also mentioned often as a negative throughout survey, aided by a discussion talking about how limiting the light may be in the church and how this could create problems while filming)
-Check the church is clean and in good condition
-Might not get permission to use the locations you want (this was also mentioned twice as a possible problem)
-Could be seen as disrespectful so be cautious
-Ideas could been as typical and overused, which could make our video look unoriginal

Recommendations:
-Make sure you have lighting for the church (this was a common recommendation, which is very understandable due to the church location choice)
-Setting back up option, which includes other location ideas

Overall, we have taken a lot of this feedback on board; some of the most helpful feedback has been regarding the difficulties of lighting within the Church and how this may be very problematic. This feedback has allowed Ceri and I to consider other options/ideas such as using the stage with stage lighting to create our music video instead. Linking in with giving us inspiration for a move away from the Church is the feedback we have been given of remaining respectful and not creating a "done before" music video, which has helped to start developing our ideas of using the stage. As one of our positives was the idea of the stain glass window, we are planning to try to re-create this look and feel on stage in order to help make our music video effective for our target audience and the dancers will still be an instrumental part of the video, which was an idea that was received well.
