Four, Five Seconds-Post Production Evaluation

To complete the editing and final post production, our group of seven split into smaller groups and I worked with my partner. We used iMovie on an iMac to edit the footage after uploading the clips. Overall editing took around three hours during which we improved our editing skills.

We began by uploading the footage, choosing the clip from the selection of clips we filmed and trimming them to size. Once the clips were the lengths we wanted we joined them together using a simple cut editing as this was the same used in the professional music video. Next we made the clips black and white, again to mimic Four, Five Seconds, and for each clip changed the gradient, contrast and saturation to create to the same shade of black and white. After this we muted the sound on the original clips before overlaying the song. Once this was done we edited the clips so that music matched the singing and performing of our performers; this took some time and perfecting and from this we developed our editing skills. Finally we added the black border around to carry on copying the professional video; this also took a little time to figure out and execute.

Throughout this stage of the process I have massively developed my editing skills as this video was more challenging to edit. Aligning the music to the clips was tricky and took a lot of altering to get right as was adding the border. I have learnt the precision of cutting the clips exactly to the right length and how this can impact the rest of the video.
